Advent 2024 Devotion: December 18
Scripture: Luke 2:19
19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.
Devotion: The scene in Luke 2:19 surrounding Jesus' birth were filled with mystery and wonder. After the extraordinary events of Jesus' birth and the arrival of the shepherds with their incredible story of angelic visitation, Mary couldn't help but ponder deeply in her heart of what God had done. She paused as she treasured the miraculous birth of the Lord, the birth which reveals God's presence and love. Mary didn't have all the answers, but she embraced and trusted in God's plan. Like Mary, we ought to consider the profound implications of Jesus' birth and reflect on the incredible gift of God's Son and what it means for our lives. This season, let's embrace the mystery of God's love and His ways, trusting that He is at work even when we don't fully understand.
Has this Christmas Season strengthened your faith as you held onto the truths of the Gospel allowing them to shape your hearts and minds?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Strengthen our faith and help us to trust in You fully. May this Christmas season be filled with a deep sense of awe and wonder as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
