Advent 2024 Devotion: December 13

Scripture: Matthew 1:20-21
20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Devotion: The angel's message to Joseph reveals Jesus' mission to save His people from their sins. Jesus' name means "the Lord saves," reminding us of His purpose and our need for a Savior.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to save us from our sins. Help us to accept Your forgiveness and to live as people redeemed by Your grace. Amen.
