The Book of Ruth: A Lineage of Grace
The Book of Ruth is a beautiful account of God’s providence, redeeming love, and covenant faithfulness. The story unfolds during the dark and uncertain days of the judges, when Israel was marked by spiritual confusion and moral decline. Yet in the middle of that darkness, God quietly works through the ordinary faithfulness of Boaz, Ruth, and Naomi. Their lives remind us that even when God’s hand is difficult to see, He is still directing circumstances, caring for His people, and accomplishing purposes far greater than we can imagine.
Ruth is more than a story of loss, loyalty, and restoration. It is part of the grand redemptive story of Scripture. Through a grieving widow, a faithful foreigner, and a worthy redeemer, God preserved the family line that would lead to King David and ultimately to Jesus Christ. As you study this book, notice how our true Kinsman-Redeemer brings hope out of loss, fullness out of emptiness, and redemption to those who take refuge in Him.
